Organised jointly by AER and the region of Acores (P), AER Summer School3 took place between 20 and 25 August 2012. During the AER Summer Schools regional and European decision-makers, regional officers and young people had the chance to discuss the important topic of culture and creative industries in times of economic crisis. The UN declaration of Human Rights tells us why culture is important. Article 27 says: “Everyone has the right freely to participate in the cultural life of the community, to enjoy the arts and to share in scientific advancement and its benefits.” This is why we are promoting equal access to culture. As a result members of the AER Youth Regional Network together with participants of the AER Youth Summer School on culture and creative industries present the results of discussions and their joint contribution to the European Commission.
