Within the effort on working on projects and funding, AER Secretariat launched the first brokerage event on energy and climate change projects in order to foster the participation of AER member regions in EU funded projects, build consortia and enlarge the cooperation and partnerships with relevant European stakeholders.
Being the access to funding opportunities through EU projects and programmes crucial for regions, AER developed a dedicated service for regions which consist in assisting them in finding project partners, disseminating project information to the whole network, taking part in projects and assisting with the project writing and development. The brokerage event is part of the new services provided to our member regions to develop project ideas and join EU projects.
AER decided to lunch it working with one of our partner network – ERRIN – which has a strong experience on this format of events dedicated to project development, in order to join forces and make possible the meeting and networking of different actors such as regions, universities, companies, etc.
Why we chose the topics of energy and climate change for this brokerage event?
These are topics of high interest both for AER and ERRIN, having a lot of funding possibilities within EU programmes. We decided to focus on Horizon 2020 call for proposals with deadline on 2017 and, in this framework, we identified 41 calls that could fit with these topics. Based on feedbacks received by participants on the calls they are more interest in, we are going to select the top 8 calls/topic areas to focus during the brokerage event.
Sharing project ideas and doing project development on these topics is a follow up of the high interest that AER regions showed within some recent initiatives lunched by AER which have been very well welcomed: in particular the “100 solutions project campaign” focused on financing energy, waste and energy efficiency projects and AER participation at COP22 in Marrakesh. Therefore AER decided to approach also the EU funding for green projects, giving the possibility for regions and their stakeholders to present project ideas, join projects and meet potential new partners to build consortia.
To participate, please register on the ERRIN website. Select the calls you are interested in and specify if you wish to just participate in or if you are willing to lead the project.
Please specify if you are planning to give a flash presentation (5 minutes maximum) during the plenary, before the breakout sessions. Priority will be given to project leaders. In addition, please upload your project idea on the form.
The deadline for the first round of registrations is 19 December. Once we select the top-8 calls/topic areas we will open again registrations until 16 January for participants interested in these topics.
If you like to get additional information, please contact AER Secretariat.
