The Commune of Ixelles is one of 19 communes/municipalities in Brussels with a local council. Along with other Brussels municipalities, and at the request of the Flemish Community, Ixelles has marked the local culture with a spirit of quality, commitment, and participation. The commune has also set up a cultural council that informs the commune about its cultural life.

The Commune of Ixelles is searching for partners with experience in local community building initiatives for a Erasmus+ KA1 project on adult education in local cultural policy and superdiversity. The commune of Ixelles would like to learn how to better discover citizen initiatives of minorities and how to accompany motivated people from other communities in realising their socio-cultural projects. The idea is to gather knowledge in the field of intercultural dialogue, community building and diversity.
