AER Committee 3 President and Mayor of Nordland, Ms Sonja Steen, welcomes AER members and stakeholders to Bodø (Nordland-NO) for the 2016 AER General Assembly (GA) form 22-24 June. It will be the first GA ever to take place in Norway.

Bodø is the capital city of Nordland and counts 50.000 inhabitants (of the 242.000 in the region) and will celebrate its 200 years in 2016.

The main conference topic that will be highlighted at this time will be the sustainable development of the rich resources in the north, including safety and emergency preparedness (- Natural resources in the north, green energy, oil& gas, minerals, traditional fisheries and fish farming, and environmental issues and climate change in the high north is extremely important for the whole of Europe)

“Bodø and Northern Norway is one of the best regions in the world to visit. Bodø is both That beautiful remote and surprisingly hip with new Nordic cuisine restaurants, clubs that keep the nightlife going and more.”
