President, Hande Özsan Bozatli, opened, on Monday 30 September in Lyon (Rhône Alpes – F), the 11th European University of the Foundation of European Regions for Research in Education and Training (FREREF). Together with Jean-Jack Queyranne, President of the Rhône Alpes Region and Mercedes Bresso, Vice-President of the Committee of the Regions, AER President defended the role of the regions in life-long learning policies.

This meeting between the President and the FREREF will lead to the drafting of a Memorandum of Understanding which will be submitted to the next AER Bureau. The FREREF will feed into AER’s work thanks to its deep and recognised knowledge of European policies for education and training. AER on its side will disseminate the work of the FREREF and both organisations will join forces to defend education and training policies in Europe, as they already did in the past for Erasmus for All.
