“We won’t show you our successes or good practices, we want you to see the bare reality and identify the failures we don’t see” is what the 10 peers from AER, Maramures, Avila, Flevoland and Sør-Trøndelag heard at a one-week peer review in Mid Sweden (27-31 May) in the context of the Smart Europe INTERREG IVC project.

Embedded with an outstanding innovation system, an exceptional natural environment and good living conditions, the Mid Sweden region faces challenges related to negative population trends, brain drain and long distances. To improve the link between individual ideas and the regional innovation system, peers recommended improving both the support organisations’ coordination and visibility. Attracting skills, they said, goes hand in hand with talking up the region and promoting success stories.

Info: Smart Europe is organising a photo contest!

Are you an innovative entrepreneur? Or do you know good stories about innovative companies? Does photography flip you out?

Smart Europe wants to showcase stories in pictures and words about smart and innovative companies around Europe. Participating is easy!
