AER Task Force on Cohesion Policy
The discussion about the future of the EU’s cohesion policy is gaining momentum. In just a few years, the European Commission will unveil its proposals for the next EU programming period. Key institutional actors and stakeholders are already thinking about how cohesion policy has worked in the past and present, and they’re exploring ways to make it better after 2027.
This debate is a central one for regional authorities and a major opportunity for them to have a say in how cohesion policy is designed and implemented in the future. Therefore, it’s crucial for regions to engage in these discussions and push for a renewed policy that effectively addresses key challenges and opportunities, enabling them to navigate the green and digital transition successfully.
The AER Task Force will actively contribute to the ongoing debate on the future cohesion policy and play a vital role in advancing AER influencing efforts by encouraging conversations among AER members and working together to advocate for a stronger and more effective cohesion policy beyond 2027.

AER Task Force on the Future of Work
The world of work is undergoing a profound transformation, presenting us with both challenges and opportunities. If managed properly, this transformation has the potential to shape a future that brings improved outcomes for the economy, society, and the environment. The AER Task Force on the Future of Work invites European Regions to address this transformative change and shape a workforce that is prepared for the future.
Following the debate on “Next Generation Skills: Regions shaping the Future of Work” held in Barcelona in June, the AER Task Force on the Future of Work is embarking on the important task of drafting the AER position on the future of work. In this crucial phase, we invite you to lend your expertise and contribute to creating a workforce that embraces the green and digital transition while ensuring equality and fostering shared benefits across every corner of Europe.
