Dear members, the Assembly of European Regions is looking for hosts for its future events!

Since AER’s creation, we have brought our member regions together all across Europe. In 2018, we would love to arrive at your doorsteps!

2016-2017 was very fruitful in terms of good practice exchange and experiences from the whole of Europe. This upcoming year promesses to unravel and develop even more exchanges and cooperation!

Upcoming events

The Youth Regional Network – End 2017

Created by the Assembly of European Regions, the Youth Regional Network (YRN) is a platform of regional-level youth parliaments, councils and organisations from wider Europe. YRN provides a truly unique forum giving young people from diverse regions a collective voice on the European stage while introducing a European dimension to youth policy.

For 2-4 days, your region will get the chance to welcome the AER Youth Regional Network General Assembly and Plenary. An excellent opportunity to exchange with engaged youth on current policies and challenges.

You can check out last year’s YRN Assembly in Vojvodina, Serbia.

Spring and Autumn Committees’ Plenaries –  2018

The Spring and Autumn Plenaries gather the three committees of the Assembly of European Regions. Twice a year, they gather for 2-3 days to make a point on the work achieved and their future action plans. The events bring about crucial themes in European regions current affairs.

The plenaries also feature conferences involving high-level speakers, inclusive debates and valuable workshops on specific domains of interest for each committees.

Plenaries are an extraordinary chance to get involved with other regions on important present matters, to share good practices from your region and gain visibility for your local projects!

For more insight you can see the article on this year Spring plenaries in London, and of the upcoming autumn plenaries in Nancy (Grand-Est, France).

Bureau meetings – 2018

AER Bureau meets at least twice a year. It sets the primary political voice of AER. During two days, the executive board and representatives from each states, will discuss AER political priorities and decide on a declaration. All can take part in the debate.

The encounter will gather regional recommendations, experience and good practice sharing, a study visit might be organised for more insight on regional issues, opportunities and/or projects.

The last bureau meeting took place in the Sankt Pölten in the Austrian region of Lower Austria.

The General Assembly

The AER General Assembly is the most important event of the year for the organisation. The GA gathers all members of AER and the Executive Board to discuss the future of the Assembly of European Regions.

It is a unique opportunity of meeting and sharing with all your regional peers, to discuss upcoming political challenges and debate to find out common solutions.

The 2017 General Assembly took place in Sankt Pölten, Lower Austria.
