While AER members are in London, gathering for their committee plenary meetings, the news of a terrible attack shocked the world.

Targeting the UK Parliament, a symbol of democracy, the Assembly of European Regions empathises strongly with the people of the United Kingdom who are having to go through this dreadful event.

Our thoughts and sympathy are with the victims, their friends and families, emergency services, and all the British nation. The UK is a multi-faith and multicultural society to be proud of. The Assembly of European Regions, its members an its staff stand with its UK members and the UK government in unity and solidarity at this painful time.
