AER defends Eastern regions’ interests at CORLEAP meeting

Pascal Goergen, AER Secretary General, participated in the Committee of the Regions’ CORLEAP meeting, discussing the next steps of EU’s Eastern Partnership policy (EaP) and the contribution of regions at the upcoming ministerial summit on the Eastern Partnership (Vilnius – November 2013).

As AER has many members from EaP countries, it is well placed to defend their interests and to promote interregional cooperation. AER underlined therefore the need to involve regional authorities in the implementation of future EaP projects.

Pascal Goergen also proposed to link EaP with the Black Sea regions, with which AER works closely since 2010.
