Emotional Support for Young People during Lockdown

The Catalan Youth Agency has published two interesting guides with tips and advice for young people on how to manage and deal with the lockdown. Since this had a significant impact on young people by exacerbating and accentuating their already widespread fragilities.

The goal is to accompany young people to find meaning in the lockdown and transform this situation into a positive experience. The guides are addressed to young people, but also to all organisations and entities that operate and work with young people. To increase self-knowledge and personal growth, the guides place 3 fundamental points at the centre:

  • Breaking isolation. We’re not alone either at home or outside it. We can create together and build networks.
  •  Working on feelings and emotions. Understanding what’s happening to us.
  •  Making the most of it, learning and bringing positive energy.

Thanks to these guides many young people can undertake an inner discovery and learn to better manage their emotions. Since it was published online, hundreds of young people have already downloaded it.

The guides have been included in The MIL Alliance Response to COVID-19 – a selection of 15 educational resources by The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization. The guides have been released in 4 languages: English, French, Spanish and Catalan. Downloadable below:
