#ShineBright – Dedicated to climate action – Upper Austria

AER has been working for several years on concerted climate action.

This is a topic, which realistically concerns all of us but those who will be most impacted by our action or lack of it will be the youth.

This is why, while climate action is normally tackled exclusively by Committee 1, Committee 3 President 3 Dag Rønning made a point to highlight the actions of Upper Austria for Climat action on the occasion of the AER Plenaries in Nancy. Upper Austria therefore received the AER #Shinebright recognition which underlines the remarkable actions regions develop and share with the network for policy innovation.

Upper Austria organises each year their World Sustainable Energy Days which bring together more than 700 delegates from over 50 countries from business, the public sector and the research community. In 2018 again, from 28 February to 2 March, Upper Austria will be the capital of energy efficiency, biomass and smart building. AER is a longstanding partner to the WSED, an event which many AER members have attended over the years. An AER delegation will participate in the World Sustainable Energy Days. AER members interested in joining should contact AER Coordinator for Member Relations Elin Berglie.

This action by Upper Austria is crucial in terms of knowledge and experience sharing for a more sustainable planet and received a loud applause from AER members.
