On 27 November 2014, in Montpellier (FR), AER organised a workshop entitled “Earth’s mantle and territorial geological identities: a comparative approach of regionalism”. The workshop took place in the framework of the “European and International territorial meetings”, an event co-organised with the region of Languedoc-Roussillon.
The workshop provided a global picture on the state of regionalism in the wider Europe, thanks to the presentation of the AER study on this subject that will be published for the AER 30th Anniversary, in 2015. AER Academic centre experts involved in this study highlighted the situation of regionalism in their countries (Spain, Italy, France, Sweden, Romania…). To conclude, the workshop focussed on Ukraine and the opportunities that a decentralised democratic process could offer to maintain the territorial integrity of the country.
