The Industrial and International Liaison Office (IILO) of the University of Camerino (UNICAM) in the centre of Italy is drafting a project proposal titled REGRES – Regional Design and Management of Renewable Energy Sources that will be submitted under the framework of the Horizon 2020 Topic LC-SC3-RES-28-2019.
This project aims to develop a software tool to support the decision and policy makers in the optimal planning and more effective and sustainable deployment of Renewable Energy Sources (RES) at regional level by taking account of relevant bio-geophysical data, socio-economic aspects and legal information. This tool will be based on a detailed information of the territory (downscaled climate and weather data, geomorphological data, land use, etc.), and it will be also able to predict the peak in the power generation and consumption from the (1-5 day) weather forecast data. The tool will be tested in three very different EU pilot areas.
The lead partner aims at composing a wide EU and extra-EU partnership (academia, business and institutional bodies) in order to cover all the type of energy sources (geothermic, hydropower, biomass, solar photovoltaic, etc.) and he is looking for an additional region to join the consortium. This region will have the opportunity to be one of the three pilot areas of the project (specifically on off-shore energy) besides Marche Region (Italy) and Hungary , having the possibility to involve the relevant regional actors.
If you are interested to join this project or to ask additional information, please come back to us by 30th May.
