DINAMO is a Belgian independent non-profit organisation that organises education for adults. Remarkably, all of their courses, workshops and outings are given or led by volunteer experts and instructors. Ten professional team members direct 230 volunteers who deliver and lead some 400 activities per year. The average participant enrols in about 2.3 activities, which means DINAMO counts about 6,000 enrolments per year. This makes DINAMO the largest provider of personal growth and development, being a sustainable source of volunteer work and networking opportunities for all.
DINAMO wishes to collaborate with European partners to seek a methodology to strengthen, coach and evaluate volunteer instructors within its project “Empowering volunteer instructors/teachers”. In particular, DINAMO is interested to find answers/solutions to the following questions:
- Which educational skills and abilities are essential for volunteer instructors and how can we guide and support them in this regard?
- How can we coach and evaluate volunteers in a non-threatening, effective and motivating way, considering their volunteer status?
- How can we develop our organization’s policies and vision regarding coaching, teaching and developing volunteers?
- What tools and techniques can our professional team learn and use to accomplish our goals for volunteers?
If you are interested in this topic and you look to the same objective of developing a tool/methodology which can help volunteers to become more professional instructors and leaders and which can potentially prepare them to develop further for accessing workplaces, do not hesitate to contact the AER Secretariat. We are here to listen, share and follow up your expression of interest to take part in this project!
Deadline for you reaction is 4 January.
