The Brussels representation of Mid-Sweden (SE) and AER organised a joint Breakfast Briefing on 11 April featuring COSME, the EU programme for the Competitiveness of Enterprises and Small and Medium-sized Enterprises 2014-2020. Key issue addressed was how regional authorities can make use of the COSME programme to support their own regional and local SMEs.

Guest speaker at the briefing was Patrick KLEIN from the European Commission, DG Enterprise and Industry (Unit A.1), Competitiveness, Industry and Growth Policies. He explained to over 30 participants which steps regions need to take in order to get involved in COSME, while underlining the fact that SMEs are not direct beneficiaries of the programme.
