The EU-Strategy for the Alpine Region brings young people from the Alpine region in their summer camps, youth council events and workshops.
The Alpine Space stands out in Europe for its natural beauty and rich multicultural diversity. Covering an area of 450,000 km², it is home to over 80 million people across 7 countries and 48 regions. Even if these regions have different governance systems and traditions, they share key priorities and face similar challenges.
How to empower the Youth in the Alpine Region
The EU-Strategy for the Alpine Region (Support EUSALP) addresses common challenges across regions. The regions form a macro-regional governance aiming to enhance cooperation and coordination of actions with the support of European Union investment tools, such as Cohesion Policy.
‘Among their partners, the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region is responsible for the management of youth-driven initiatives that deliver a realistic, active and sustainable change for young people living in the Alpine Region’.
In collaboration with Bourgogne-Franche-Comté and in the framework the YOUTHopia project, we have covered three of their main youth initiatives:
Pitch your Project: This is a unique competition for young people in the Alpine region aged 15 to 25. Participants are called to submit their entrepreneurial ideas to a jury granting prize money for kickstarting their projects.
In contrast with the tedious and complex process of project writing, “Pitch your Project” guides participants through these steps, moulding their ideas until their project is up and running.
The closing event of “Pitch your Project” will take place in Strasbourg, at the Region Grand Est, on 21-22 November! Check out the programme HERE, and register HERE. |
The EUSALP Youth Council is all about empowering young people to lead the change in the Alpine region. Their voices are heard by politicians and civil workers. Support EUSALP actively involves young people in addressing their most pressing issues.
The Summer Camps offer a fun and engaging experience that brings young people closer to the stunning Alps. Through activities and workshops, young people bond while enjoying the picturesque mountainous setting.
In line with the (inter)regional initiatives that the YOUTHopia project has the vocation to promote. Support EUSALP demonstrates its commitment to overcoming the challenges of territorial cohesion and active youth citizenship.
