At the AER Spring Committee meetings in London, the region of Gelderland (NL) was recognised in the #ShineBright session in recognition of its particularly active participation in Committee 2 with the organisation of a study visit and project development meeting last year on patient centered care. This was an opportunity for many members to discover ParkinsonNet, an initiative which brings together all health and care stakeholders both public and private, from the industry and the insurance sector, to develop an ecosystem which enables them to offer Parkinson’s disease patients the best possible care, as well as to improve their quality of life by improving Parkinson-specific expertise and supporting personalised healthcare. This excellent practice was presented at the E-health event in December in Brussels as well as at the ALEC e-health conference in Luleå. The ParkinsonNet model is now being exported in other countries thanks to the AER network.
