Mr Goran Pauk, from Šibenik-Knin (HR), was elected as member of the Monitoring and Evaluation Group on 1 December 2015.

It is a great honour for me to be elected in the AER Monitoring and Evaluation Group (MEG) on 1 December 2015 and I would like to thank AER members for trusting me with this responsibility. This group has had a key role to play in keeping the AER relevant for members and stakeholders and I look forward to contributing to this mission in the future.

My region, Šibenik-Knin (HR), has been active in AER since 2011. We have been particularly interested in youth exchange and we have been implementing Eurodyssee programme successfully since 2012. We find that exchange of youth provides more than just a professional and linguistic training– it is an entire doorway to friendship, better international understanding and a brighter future. Young people are given the opportunity to grow as individuals while their concept of the world is growing too. And when these young people one day assume leadership roles in our County they will bring to these positions the benefits of and insights from their exchange experiences.

In Šibenik-Knin County we realized that all of the above mentioned benefits that our youngsters gain from their Eurodyssee programme, we gain from our AER membership and thats why we have decided to confirm our dedication and involvement in AER by stepping into the governance of the organisation and contributing with our time and energy to the improvement of our network. We believe the network truly depends on the ownership by its members and will continue to encourage other regions to increase their activities and involvement.
