We are a network
Multiple times per year, AER brings together regions, so that they may stand stronger together, and grow in a space of best practice exchange.
Regions Shaping Europe’s Future: Political Priorities for 2024-2029 | Autumn Bureau & Working Groups in Brussels [SAVE THE DATE]
3 December - 4 December
At its Autumn meeting, the AER Bureau will pave the way for a strategic discussion on the interests of regions in an evolving European landscape.
By bringing together regional representatives, political leaders and EU policymakers, the AER Bureau will explore how regions can position their interests within the new EU policy leadership to shape policies consistent with their priorities. The discussion will focus on aligning regional strategies with the evolving political direction and priorities, ensuring regions are recognised as crucial partners in the policy-making process.
This Autumn meeting will be a critical opportunity for AER regions to unite, elaborate strategies, and strengthen their voice in the new European political cycle, setting a foundation for proactive engagement with EU institutions over the coming years. The event will include hands-on workshops by the AER Working Groups on Bioeconomy and Green Hydrogen. These meetings
will be crucial for sharing grassroots expertise and identifying priorities that align with the evolving EU policy agenda, reinforcing the role of regions as key drivers of the green transition and vital partners in shaping future EU policies.
Another key focus of the event will be reflecting on strategies to support and highlight best practices for youth engagement in policy-making. Through a study visit within the Erasmus+ project Climbing the Ladder (CL-YE), which aims to explore successful models of youth participation across Europe, the AER and its partners will identify ways to enhance the role of young people in EU and regional policy-making.
