Next week is the European Week of Regions and Cities’ 2017 edition.
AER is proud to have been part of the organisation of several events, that are listed below.
We hope to see you during next week’s sessions to discuss, exchange and look towards next steps in our cooperation.

An alternative for the future: Silver Economy for cities and regions
14:30 – 18:00
This workshop will take its participants through four inspiring examples of how a Silver Economy can help regions and cities to better match the needs of their ageing population while supporting local businesses and solution providers. It will be the opportunity to discuss the complementarity between these examples and the initiatives at EU level. The networking session that follows will bring together potential partners around issues related to the Silver Economy.
11 October
Regions and cities for climate and energy transition: A joint exercise
14:00 – 19:00
This workshop will focus on how Regions and Cities are increasing their engagements on climate and energy in the post-2020 perspective, by exchanging experiences and good practises among partners and participants. It is called “a joint exercise” because the content is designed in a way to be fully transferable to other regions and cities encouraging networking and capacity building.
Building the Cohesion Alliance – new ideas and next steps – harvesting from #EURegionsWeek 2017
17:30 – 19:00
The first part of the event will focus, together with high-level representatives of the European territorial associations, on the launch of the #CohesionAlliance, which aims at supporting a strong and effective cohesion policy for all regions beyond 2020 through joint activities of associations and interested parties and individuals across Europe.
The second part will report on key ideas emerging from different workshops of the European Week of Regions and Cities on the future of cohesion policy.
