At the AER Spring Committee meetings in London, the region of Norrbotten (SE) was recognised in the #ShineBright session in recognition of its active participation in Committee 1 on the topic of energy and the energy transition. Norrbotten led the work for the drafting of the AER report on energy security. Several meetings of the working group on energy and climate change were dedicated to defining shared challenges, gathering good practices, identifying recommendations for the elaboration of the report. The report was finally published on 14 June in the context of the Renewable energy week in Brussels. The report, was handed to Miguel Arias Cańete, EU Commissioner for Climate Action and Energy on the occasion of the Structured Dialogue at the Committee of the Regions and has been distributed to stakeholders at different events.

The “being concrete” of Norrbotten doesn’t stop there, the region also got involved in the SEED project which will run the Silver Economy Awards this year and invited AER to join a consortium for a project which could finance the leadership programme Committee 2 has been working on for several years.
