A half-day training session on institutional lobbying for regions in Brussels was organised in the context of AER’s training programme. The session focused on the role of regions as institutional advocacy workers in general, looked at different methods and strategies and discussed those in the light of three case studies and perspectives. These were: the role of regional offices, the work in a network and on the perception of the European Commission about regions as advocacy actors in Brussels.
The session showed that there is a continued need to train regions on the best and most effective ways of working in Brussels. Further sessions will, therefore, be foreseen in 2015.
