Assembly of European Regions

Connecting regions, inspiring Europe since 1985

Knowledge Transfer Events

Twice a year on the occasion of the AER Bureau, or during the year upon the invitation of members of the Working Groups, the AER organises in-person knowledge transfer activities because it strongly believes in the necessity of meeting in the real world of regions.

These thematic meetings serve to

  • highlight regional policies and practices
  • launch new discussions & exchanges among AER members
  • inform about ongoing knowledge transfer activities
  • gather and share ideas
  • explore in depth a topic related to the work initiated of the Working Groups
  • assess needs in the regions for the development of joint initiatives
  • lay the ground for future collaborations

Format

The format of knowledge transfer events is flexible and adapted to the needs and context of the host region. The event should create an experience that will encourage the knowledge flow, it will therefore include a combination of plenaries and workshops, or other participative or co-creative formats, as well as study visits.

Hosting a Knowledge Transfer Activity

Please contact AER Coordinator for Policy & Knowledge Transfer Johanna Pacevicius if you would like to host a Knowledge Transfer activity, either in your region or in Brussels. Please take into consideration that we aim to plan events at least 6 months in advance, to make it possible to develop a high-quality experiences, that creates value for AER members.

We will develop the event together with your team to create a unique mutual learning experience.
