Join the conversation! On 7 March 2025, the Assembly of European Regions (AER) and the Government of Catalonia are hosting a webinar on human trafficking and labour exploitation as part of the EU-Belong Knowledge Transfer Cluster on How People Work and Create.

About the Webinar

This webinar will explore the challenges and best practices in tackling human trafficking and labour exploitation across European regions. Experts will examine why trafficking happens, present a case study from Catalonia, and discuss how Pomerania (Poland) is addressing the issue.

The webinar is aimed at policymakers, administrative personnel, and regional stakeholders working on migration-related topics.

On the Agenda 

  • Trafficking for Labour Exploitation: A General Overview
    Ms Giovanna Leuzzi (PhD Researcher, Universitat de Barcelona) – Expert in European and local policies on human trafficking, providing insights into the European and Catalonian context.
  • Agricultural Campaigns and the Agri-Food Sector: The Case of Catalonia
    Ms Júlia Olarieta (Fruita amb Justícia Social) – Activist working to support and empower migrant workers in the agri-food sector through a mobile information and advice service across Ponent (Catalonia).
  • Good Practice from Poland: The Pomerania Region’s Approach
    Pomerania Region Representative (EU-Belong Project Partner) – Overview of migration policy in Pomerania, their EU-Belong pilot project, and future actions to combat trafficking and support victims.
  • Q&A Session
