The 8th Black Sea Summit at a glance
The Assembly of European Regions is co-organising the 8th Black Sea Summit with the Autonomous Republic of Ajara, Georgia, from 12 to 14 June 2024. A high-level political conference on regional issues, the Black Sea Summit fosters critical discussions on the wider Black Sea region, whose developments are crucial for global politics and economy.
The venue of the Black Sea Summit & General Assembly / Spring Bureau Meeting is the Hilton Hotel in 40 Rustaveli Ave, Batumi 6010, Georgia.

The Working Group on the Bioeconomy will examine different regional examples to innovate bioeconomy policies & practices, and will appoint a new Chair.

Study visit to UNDP funded agro-farms in Machakhela National Park (12:00 – 16:00)
Bee-keeping, wine-making and innovative use of bio-mass are only a few of the activities implemented in agro-farms located in the Machakhela Protected Areas. This was made possible by support projects implemented by UNDP together with the Ministry of Environment and Agriculture of Georgia, Ministry of Agriculture of Ajara Autonomous Republic and Khelvachauri Municipality, through financial assistance from the Global Environmental Facility – GEF and Japanese Government.
