New platform for local civil servants to acquire international experience

A tumblr platform has been created by the National Institute of Local Studies (INET). The aim of the platform is to present the opportunities for local civil servants to acquire a European or international experience and the different possibilities for them to go abroad.

The page has been created in order to encourage European and international mobility. This kind of mobility is marginal due to three main obstacles: the administrative barriers, language skills and lack of information.  We modestly want to act on this third reason.

There is plenty of information about mobility but it does not target local civil servants in particular. The aim of the platform is to inform this public and to show the many opportunities. The platform centralises information from different websites and institutions. The microblog presents 6 categories of mobility which are: Europeans institutions, international organisations, cross-border structures, associations of local authorities in Europe, foreign local authorities and volunteerism.  The categories are illustrated by testimonies of people who experience this mobility.

The first page is constructed with articles, testimonies and statistics which deal with the international and European mobility. The platform is available here.
