At the AER Spring Committee meetings in London, the region of Västernorrland was recognised in the #ShineBright session for its particularly active participation in Committee 3 in the field of education and more specifically in combatting early school leaving. Early school leaving is a major threat in Europe and Västernorrland have managed to bring together a whole group of regions to work and learn from each other in the framework of the working group. They also carried out a European project to exchange and transfer good practices and develop policy recommendations. They finalised the work with a very useful handbook which brings together good practices from 11 regions in wider Europe.
