40 years of connecting regions, inspiring Europe
Since 1985, the Assembly of European Regions (AER) has been the voice of regions in Europe. Over the past four decades, the AER has championed interregional cooperation as key driver of stronger European integration, better governance and more inclusive societies.
On 17-19 June, join the AER and Eastern Slovenia in Maribor
As 2025 marks this important milestone, the AER calls upon its members to gather and celebrate this milestone in Maribor, Eastern Slovenia, which will host the 2025 General Assembly, Spring Bureau meeting and the High-Level Maribor Innovation Forum, from June 17 to June 19 2025.
This special edition of the General Assembly and Spring Bureau is not just about reflecting on the past, but about shaping the future. It will mark the election of the new political leadership of the Assembly of European Regions, including the renewal of its Presidency, Executive Board and Political Bureau.
