From September 15, 2024, it is possible to submit project ideas for the competition ‘School Public Budget’ of the Poltava Region. This initiative, established by the Poltava Regional Council, aims to engage youth and strengthen collaboration with local governments and executive authorities to enhance civic awareness. The competition encourages the pooling of resources and efforts to address social, economic, environmental, and cultural development issues.
This year, the competition features a new program, “Educational Bridges: Ukraine and Poland,” supported by the “Jagiellonian Foundation” and co-financed by the “Polish Aid for Development” program of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland. The initiative seeks to foster Polish-Ukrainian cooperation in youth projects, spark interest in the Polish language and culture among students, engage young people in decision-making processes, and develop leadership skills. It also promotes active student participation in public life and the realization of their ideas.
Eligible to participate are projects by students from educational institutions whose representatives passed the selection process and took part in the First and Second Training Camps for Polish language teachers held in Łańcut, Poland.
Winning projects in the School Public Budget will be funded on a 50/50 basis: up to 250,000 UAH from the regional budget and 250,000 UAH or more from local council budgets. The “Educational Bridges: Ukraine and Poland” program is an exception, where winning projects will be funded 50/50 by the Jagiellonian Foundation (up to 100,000 UAH) and local councils (100,000 UAH or more).
