The AER Working group on Energy and Climate change met in Wels (A) on 28 February. On this occasion, the last version of the Hampshire report on the role of regions in ensuring a future for e-vehicles was presented and adopted by the group. Its final adoption will be proposed at the next AER General Assembly. The group also decided to support and promote the AER “Engagement of Regions against Climate change” declaration. It was recommended to narrowly follow-up future improvements in signatory regions. The new European Commission Directive on Energy Efficiency was also briefly discussed. A meeting will be organised in Brussels in June 2013, where a representative from the European Commission will be invited to present the directive.
