On the occasion of the 2017 AER MYFER award, ShineBright on the Canton of Fribourg in Switzerland, that presented its project “Je participe !/Ich mache mit!” (I participate).

The initiative is a follow-up of a Law adopted by the region on 12 May 2006 on Children and Youth on the development of a global and coordinated childhood-youth policy.

The Canton of Fribourg created “Je participe !” to design related policies with a participatory process. The objective is to define global objectives, set fields of actions and develop a Plan of action.

The program is a process of participation and consultation of children, young people, associations, communities and state services. Thanks to “Je participe !”250 actors and 136 municipalities were brought together in an inclusive policy making process.

Special efforts are made to reach the excluded groups of children and young people as well as to give youth a great responsibility in the project.

For more information visit the Canton of Fribourg website.
