The Northern Sparsely Populated Areas (NSPA) invite you to a workshop organised with the OECD in the framework of the European Week of Regions and Cities. The debate, titled “Renaissance for Remote Rurban Regions through Research – the Case of Less Urban Areas in the North”, is hosted by Scotland Europa at Scotland House, Rond-Point Schuman 6, 1040 Brussels, on 11 October 2016 at 14:30-17:00, with a reception afterwards.

The main topic will be the publication of the Regional Outlook conducted by the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development, OECD. The OECD Regional Outlook focuses this time on the development of less densely populated areas. Main speaker is Dr José Enrique Garcilazo, Head of Unit, Rural and Regional Development at the OECD, and also in charge of the ongoing OECD study on the 14 regions in the NSPA.
