SUMMARY:AER Autumn Committee Plenaries
DESCRIPTION:The 2018 Autumn Committee Plenaries will be hosted by the region of Vojvodina in Serbia. \nOpen Data will be in the spotlight during the Cocktail Debate. AER members will discuss how opening public data supports the emergence of startups in regions. The panel will bring together speakers from startups\, regional policymakers\, experts on design and data to discuss why\, how and for what regions should open their data and look at challenges and opportunities. \nEveryday\, public institutions collect and generate enormous quantities of data. This data can be re-used to create or improve services both private and public. By opening public data\, regions can boost innovation\, transparency and efficiency. However this raises a number of challenges concerning the usability and acessibility of data. Moreover\, organisations which open up to the public change the way they work with the public and how they engage with citizens.
