SUMMARY:Webinar: Green H2 Ecosystems
DESCRIPTION:The AER Working Group on Green Hydrogen was pleased to invite representatives and stakeholders from all AER member regions to participate in a webinar on green hydrogen ecosystems on 27 November 2024 from 10:00-11:30 CET. \n  \nWhat is a green H2 ecosystem?\nGreen Hydrogen ecosystems integrate the production\, storage\, and use of hydrogen from renewable sources. They play a significant role in reducing carbon emissions\, strengthening energy security\, and promoting economic growth by fostering innovation and generating employment opportunities. \nA green hydrogen ecosystem is a comprehensive network that encompasses the production\, storage\, distribution\, and utilisation of hydrogen produced using renewable energy sources\, such as wind and solar power. This ecosystem integrates various technologies\, infrastructure\, and stakeholders to create a sustainable and carbon-free energy cycle. \nThe challenge of building and nurturing ecosystems\nGreen hydrogen is crucial for reducing carbon emissions in industries that are hard to electrify\, such as steel and cement production\, as well as long-haul transport like shipping and aviation. However\, building new ecosystems comes with significant challenges\, including high production costs\, obtaining renewable energy for the electrolysis process\, and a lack of infrastructure throughout the entire value chain. \nThis webinar aims to foster mutual learning between regions working or interested in working on Geen Hydrogen to share about the development of green hydrogen ecosystems\, their pivoting from pilot to more mature ecosystem\, enablers and barriers as well as potential collaboration ideas. \nAgenda\n\n\n\n10:00-10:10\n\n\nAlbert Ballbé Programme manager at the General Directorate of Industry at the Government of Catalonia: Introduction\n\n\n\n\n10:10-10:35\n\n\nMirela Atanasiu\, Head of Unit Operations and Communications of the Clean Hydrogen Partnership: Research and innovation activities in hydrogen technologies in Europe\n\n\n\n\n10:35-10:45\n\n\nQ&A\n\n\n\n\n10:45-11:00\n\n\nKatarína Sasaráková\, Project manager Kosice Department of regional development: Development of the Kosice Green hydrogen Ecosystem\n\n\n\n\n\n11:00-11:10\n\n\nQ&A\n\n\n\n\n11:10-11:20\n\n\nJordi Candela\, Director of Aeroports de la Generalitat\, Catalunya: The use of hydrogen technologies at the Alguaire Airport project \n\n\n\n\n11:20-11:30\n\n\nQ&A\nConclusion\n\n\n\n\n\n  \nFor more information\, please contact AER Coordinator for Policy and Knowledge Transfer Johanna Pacevicius
