SUMMARY:Autumn Committees' Plenary
DESCRIPTION:Pictures\n\nOur pictures are also available on our FaceBook page. \nBackground\nThe Autumn plenaries of the three AER Committees were hosted by Izmir (TR). The overarching theme of the joint conference\, workshops and study visits was sustainable mobility. \nThe statutory plenary meetings were an opportunity to look at the activities which have been developped within the Committees during the past half year\, define objectives in terms of outputs and plan upcoming activities. \nWorking groups\, focus groups and sub-committees organised workshops and meetings to prepare project ideas\, lobbying initiatives and engage in mutual learning. \nDelegates were also invited to participate in a series of study visits on mobility\, culture\, health and rural development\, which were an opportunity to witness the best practices implemented in Izmir. \nOpening conference: Sustainable mobility: a brand new world?\nWhile the 22nd session of the Conference of the Parties to the UNFCCC\, the so-called COP22\, will take place in Marrakech from 7 to 18 November\, AER members will gather in Izmir to share experiences and create collective knowledge about a particularly hot topic: sustainable mobility. This topic indeed has impacts in most areas of life. \nMobility is access – to work\, education\, goods and services including health\, friends and family. While transport account nowadays for at last 14% of greenhouse gases (GHG) inducing climate change\, there are many ways to make this sector more sustainable. Solutions include technological\, spatial planning and social innovation. Not only is there a shift in terms of energy efficiency and use renewables\, sustainable mobility also involves radical societal changes. Sustainable transports and mobility therefore require a holistic approach which goes far beyond the remit of spatial planners. \nWorkshop: empowering youth for a dynamic Europe\nJoint workshop of the AER subcommittees on youth and education. \nWorkshop: creating health innovation ecosystems\nJoint workshop of the AER working groups on e-health and Investment\, Business and SMEs. \nWorkshop Energy & climate change\, Transport & mobility and Rural Development\nJoint workshop of the AER working groups on Energy & Climate change\, Transport & Mobility\, and Rural development. \n General Programme of Events\n\n \nMeeting documents\n\n\n\n2016 Committees’ Plenaries in Izmir- Detailed agenda\n\n\n\n\n2016 Committees’ Plenaries in Izmir – Invitation Letter\n\n\n\n\n2016 Committees’ Plenaries in Izmir – Working Documents\n\n\n\n\n\n\nList of participants
