4 – 6 March 2015 – Aalborg, North Denmark (DK)
Conference in the framework of the AER Committees’ 2 & 3 plenary meetings
The series of events we organized in Aalborg focused on how regions can develop their policies for and with their citizens for more effective policy-making, more cohesive societies and increased wellbeing.
Workshop on culture and health
The aim of the workshop was to make this knowledge more widely available to European regions by highlighting examples of good practice.
Seminar on participatory approaches for better policy making
The main objective of the seminar was to discuss how participatory approaches support efficient policy making. The questions were based on citizens representation and direct participation in the regional decision making, the results of these actions, the obstacles that had to be overcome and the implication of all actors from civil society to private sector and educational institutions in the consultations.
The study visits focused on how the region of Nordjylland interacts with their citizens. The transformation of a power station into a place of culture, sport and health services, the Health Centre from Aalborg that works a lot with health inequalities or the Health and Neighborhood House from Fyrkildevej where the community members can find the most of the municipalities services, were the best examples of good practices of working FOR and WITH citizens.
