The AER invites the European regions to participate in the 8th edition of the Most Youth Friendly European Region (MYFER) competition. It aims to highlight the importance of youth policies at regional level to improve the living conditions of young people and to encourage social understanding on the role of young people in society. The MYFER award is tailor-made for regions, since in AER we are convinced that the regional level is optimal for youth to get involved in their societies. This award produces a significant return in terms of image and visibility for the winning regions.
The deadline for submitting your initiatives for the MYFER award is 17 March 2016 at noon.
The MYFER award is open to initiatives taking place in any region belonging to a country member of the Council of Europe (not only for AER members). The initiatives presented can either be a project or a strategy, a policy or a pilot experience, as far as it aims to improve the situation of youth in Europe. There is not a limitation on which area the initiatives are targeting: it can be education, employment, mobility, environment, inclusion of disadvantaged minorities, or anything else that contributes to improve the situation of youth in the region. More information on the eligibility and evaluation criteria can be found on the award documentation.
Previous winning initiatives all shared common characteristics which qualified them to receive the award. They all had a clear focus, with defined indicators, high quality monitoring and evaluation systems, and they established a permanent dialogue with stakeholders. We encourage all European regions to come and apply to the award; each region can participate with as many initiatives as they want. We have simplified the application form to make it easy for you, just keep in mind the criteria for evaluation when filling the forms.
The initiatives submitted will be evaluated by an independent jury composed by members of the Executive Bureau of AER and professionals from the youth sector.
